Meet Mrs. Haralson

Hello! My name is Lindsey Haralson and I am thrilled to be teaching your child this year. This will be my ninth year teaching, and I am so excited to meet you! I have taught third grade for six years and this will be my third year teaching fifth grade. It is such a fun year of growth and transition from elementary to middle school and will bring many lasting memories!

I grew up in Snellville, GA (near Stone Mountain) and moved to the Newnan area with my husband in 2009. We have been married for eight years and are enjoying our life here in Newnan, GA with our new baby girl, Spencer Reese, and our sweet dog Rylee. Spencer was born last October (same birthday month as her mommy and daddy!), so she is coming up on her first birthday soon! She is always so happy and loves to smile, laugh, and play!

I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, a master's degree in Early Childhood Reading and Mathematics, and a specialist degree in Gifted and Creative Education from The University of Georgia. I also hold endorsements in ESOL and Gifted Education, STEM certification, and am a Google Certified Educator.

Outside of school my new favorite thing to do is spend time playing with Spencer and watching her learn new things every day. I enjoy learning new things in the world of teaching, computer tech and graphic design, and love to read, craft, spend time with family and friends, play with my sweet dog Rylee, and, of course, cheer on my DAWGS!! :)

Our classroom will be a positive learning community. Throughout the course of the school year, an atmosphere will be provided that fosters critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. When classroom expectations are high, students rise to meet them. A very unique community develops where we become risk takers, as well as active participants in the learning process. Fifth grade is a big year full of challenges and opportunities to grow, so student expectations and responsibilities will increase to meet help students these challenges.

I believe that communication between parents, students, and teachers is essential to the development of a positive learning environment. This website has been developed to meet this important goal. Please feel free to speak with me about any questions or concerns you may have during year. E-mail is always the easiest way to get in touch with me but you may also send in a note with your child, or call the school and leave a message with the front office.

I look forward to a great year with you!
